EXPERIENCE:
From 1996 to date, I have been providing language solutions as a freelance translator and consultant to many clients in business and finance, predominantly in the City of London.
In May 2000, I started working as the main translator for the High Yield Bond team at WestLB Panmure in London, where I translated Quarterly Company Updates as well as Weekly Reports on developments in the Bond and Equity Markets. We reported on companies in diverse industries such as telecommunications, software, packaging, directories, healthcare, automotives and other major industrials.
I keep updating my knowledge of financial terminology and the ever-changing jargon of the industry. Also, I am in contact with a wide variety of other, highly experienced translators and interpreters and can act as an agent for other languages other than German and English. My work includes a lively exchange with other professionals in the industry at Proz.com where we are compiling a knowledge database of terms and have on-going discussions about new terms and trends in the financial and related fields. I have the know-how to help you establish clear lines of communication with your clients.
BACKGROUND:
At the outset, I received my basic grounding in business and finance at the School of Economics in Brunswick, Germany, where I studied Business, Economics and Accounting.
In the UK, I also trained many international executives in the City of London in Business German, thus enabling them to efficiently communicate with their counterparts in the German-speaking world. After the completion of my Postgraduate Studies in Translation (at City University London) I obtained my Diploma in Translation from the Chartered Institute of Linguists in 1996 with a Merit in Business.
